Lamp Shades

We are offering some special art glass and antique lamp shades here. Please ask if you need a light fixture for displaying them; we can certainly supply a suitable fixture to complement your shade, such as a ceiling hall fixture, table lamp or bridge lamp.

Please use a low wattage bulb (preferably 25 watt, no more than 40 watts) to illuminate your antique shade.

Prices are in CANADIAN DOLLARS. US and International customers can use the currency converter on our Payment & Terms page.

Art Nouveau Bohemian Glass Lampshade - Item # GL343 - $ 85

bohemianshade bohemianshade bohemianshade bohemianshade

This antique lampshade is made of faintly iridescent, clear glass with applied threading (reeding or strings) giving a rich textured appearance.

We believe it to be Bohemian of Loetz type origin. Many Bohemian makers were capable of this type of work and it is difficult to make definite attribution. It would date from about 1900 and is in Art Nouveau floriform style.

There is a fitter rim chip about 1/2" wide which does not extend down into the fitter crevice. You can see this clearly in the second photo. This chip cannot be seen when the lamp shade is in place in a light fixture (see last photo). The other end of the lampshade (the flower points) and the body of the shade are undamaged.

The length of the lampshade is about 4" and the width at the open end is about 6". The fitter rim is about 2.25" and fits standard shade holders.

Lundberg Studios Art Glass Lampshade - Item # GL100 - $150

T107

Here is a Lundberg Studios (California) art glass lampshade. It has a gold iridescent interior, and a translucent white exterior with gold iridescent heart and vine design. The overall effect is quite stunning and honors the Art Nouveau designs of Tiffany, Steuben and others in the early part of the twentieth century. The lampshade is marked L S (illegible symbol) and 1994 which we believe is the date of manufacture. The shade takes a standard 2.5" shade holder and it is 6" long. The shade is quite heavy, so please ensure that you place it into a lamp or fixture which will support its weight properly.

Pink and White Glass Lampshade - Item # CF102 - $ 75

pinkshade pinkshade

This pretty pink glass shade appears to be hand blown since tool marks are evident at the crimps on the lower ruffled border. The glass is white outside with a pink shading to white interior, probably heat-reactive glass. We are not sure of the origin of this lampshade, possibly Fenton, but possibly an earlier English shade.

Pair of Decorated Carnival Glass Lampshades - Item # GL265 - $ 250

carnivalpair

Pretty carnival glass shades were made around 1910 to 1920 to compete with the more expensive hand-made Tiffany lampshades. This pair of carnival glass shades features a hand painted lake scene with cottage and dock, accented with applied glass frit to represent snow. Shades like this are rare and desirable and look beautiful when lit.

Victorian Cranberry and Opalescent Glass Lampshade - Item # CF105 - $ 125

cranberryshade cranberryshade

Here is an early cranberry and opalescent glass lampshade. It is probably English and mold blown to achieve the hobnail effect and ruffled edge. There are a couple of minor fitter rim chips which don't show when the lampshade is installed, and some of the decorative gold paint at the edge has worn off. The remaining gold applied paint could easily be removed if you prefer.

This delicate and very pretty shade is a grand old survivor from late Victorian days.

Art Deco Schoolhouse Type Lampshade - Item # CF107 - $ 95

schoolhouse schoolhouse

Here is a large Art Deco era schoolhouse type glass shade in white with tan accents. It has a 12" fitter rim and is in perfect condition. What you need to accomodate this beauty is a 12" fitter gallery and hanging mechanism.

Retro Pink Fiberglass Bridge Lamp Shade - Item # TF193 - $ 45

pinkshade

A show-stopper for your retro decor. This pink fiberglass shade is intended to go on a bridge lamp and has a centre screw threaded opening.

Pair of Retro Ship Design Lamp Shades - Item # TF194 - $ 65

shipshades shipshades shipshades

This rare pair of survivors from the 1950's feature a ship or galleon design in great colors. The shades are made from pleated paper and still have remnants of their original protective cellophane (you know, the stuff your grandmother refused to take off her lampshades!). The shades have a wire frame and finials as shown in the last photo. The shades measure 9" high and are 14" at the lower end.

Leather Arts and Crafts Bridge Lamp Shade - Item # DE281 - $ 55

leather

This laced leather lampshade has a screw type spider to fit a bridge lamp with the screw type socket. The lampshade probably dates from the 1920's or perhaps earlier. The laced leather construction is Arts and Crafts in origin, but the applied painted design is moving towards Art Deco style.

Local customers can bring their bridge lamp in to be fitted with a screw type socket to fit this shade.
